The Mechaber brings down the minhag of undoing the lulav rings on Hoshana Rabbah. I have not seen many people doing this. Also, is it supposed to be down before you bench lulav or only doing the hakofos?
4 out of next 5 years Hoshana Rabba shall be on a Sunday, so maybe Sunday not being a workday, people shall have more time to adjust the rings on their Lulov than they have on a working day.
