What are frum Jewish yeshivish communities that are not a far commute by train or bus to Manhattan?
In NY:
Brooklyn, Queens, Riverdale (part of the Bronx), Staten Island
In NJ:
Teaneck, Elizabeth/Hillside, Springfield, Linden
Passaic Park closest NJ frum community to MidTown Manhattan.
NYC: Pelham Parkway and Riverdale; subway service is better from Pelham Parkway.
Westchester County: Orthodox communities in Mount Vernon, New Rochelle/Scarsdale (actually 3 separate communities), Mamaroneck (centered around the school complex there), White Plains, and Mount Kisco, all close to Metro North Commuter Railroad.
Manhattans Lower East Side and Upper West Side and Washington Heights communities are pretty close to Manhattan too.
Why near manhattan? Why not IN manhattan.
UWS, UES, LES, Washington heights.

No, you are looking for yeshivish wannabe. There is a difference.

Passaic, Riverdale, Lower East Side, depending on your definition of yeshivish, washington heights. Queens (KGH and others) Brooklyn has a bunch of frum areas. Depending on how far you are willing to commute there is also Monsey.
The Yeshiva Telshe Alumni of Riverdale is Yeshivish. The Riverdale community itself is not so.
YCT is not Yeshivish despite its usurpation of the word Yeshiva.
Your best bet is to go to Passaic,Brooklyn, or one of the Monsey area communities.
White Plains has a few Yeshivish families and a Yeshivish Rav. Mt. Kisco has an Oberlander shtetl.
