Real or not?
Do you want to see who you once were?
And how many times you have been a gilgul????
June 12, 2014 3:59 pm at 3:59 pm #1019770TheGoqParticipantFirst I need to find out who I am in this lifetime.
June 12, 2014 4:58 pm at 4:58 pm #1019771classicalmusicMemberChazal tells us not to be concerned with these things. It’s an escapism from reality, and Hashem wants us to focus on the here and now. And what will it help you?
It’s not for us, it’s not going to help you grow in Yiddishkeit. It’ll only serve as a distraction from our Tafkid, and our learning, and what we can accomplish, which is incredible in it’s potential.
At one time I had an interest in these matters, and the words I’m repeating are from the Talmid Chochom I spoke to about it. Trust me, you’ll be better off dismissing it.

Anyhow, I know someone who did this and it sounded fascinating. Later on he started wondering if the questions and prodding created the person in his imagination. Who knows, but sure sounds like fun.

June 12, 2014 9:26 pm at 9:26 pm #1019774HaLeiViParticipantrebyidd, you stole the script from the cell number tracking sites.
June 12, 2014 10:24 pm at 10:24 pm #1019775thechoiceismineMemberHaleivi whats the difference between gilgul and the other concept you mentioned? Can you explain that concept more in detail?
June 12, 2014 10:45 pm at 10:45 pm #1019776Bookworm120Participant@Shopping – What answer did I give you in your previous life? 😉
June 15, 2014 10:40 am at 10:40 am #1019777Shopping613 ðŸŒParticipantLike someone had a water trauma, no one knew why. From the day he was born he was traumatized, no type of therapy helped, till he “found out” in his last 2 lives he drowned and died.
I am not sure if it’s real, just wondering the CR’s opinion since it looked like an interesting article in the ami, but sounded a little fake
June 15, 2014 6:13 pm at 6:13 pm #1019778benignumanParticipantConsidering that hypnotism increases a person’s suggestibility, and considering that hypnotists that “show” you your past lives charge for their services, I would be very, very, skeptical of any “past lives” one “remembers” in these sessions.
June 15, 2014 7:19 pm at 7:19 pm #1019779frumnotyeshivishParticipantThe real question is: can it change who you were in a previous gilgul? Presumably if one has a natural proclivity toward toeiva it’s to compensate for previous gilgulim’s choices. If so perhaps there’s potential to change a person’s natural nisyonos. Let’s do this!
