I keep seeing the word mod on the chats, what does that even mean? And it took me so long to get that CR means chat room… how about everyone explaining the CR lingo to newcomers?
Moon years off! CR stands for the great Coffee Room (you’re in it now) of the Yeshiva World. It is a moderated site, MODerators look over our “work”, and either approve or {EDIT} {DELETE} {BAN} or worse (at random).
Moderator is Mod. CR is Coffee Room 🙂 Also OP is the author of the thread.
If popa calls you a big fat jerk its actually a term of endearment.

If he calls you a mongoose, it means he has a very low opinion of them because he calls the same people big fat jerks as he calls mongeese.
The mods are a subculture of British youth who wear suits and ride on scooters. As opposed to the rockers, who wear motorcycle jackets and ride on motorcycles.
This is not a chat room. This is a Forum or a Message Board if you prefer.
-Mod= Moderator. Basically a forum’s Cop. Mods love Coffee, donuts, and distributing infractions.
-CR= Coffee Room. According to Yeshivaleaks there is also a secret Tea Room which is a VIP subforum where only the fat cats can post.
-Thread=topic/subject. There are many different types of threads but here generally they’re either Halachic, Informative, Socratic, Inquisitive, Trollish, For_the_lols or rebyidd23-ish.
-Post=message.
-Troll=a basement-dwelling creature that haunts message boards and creates havoc for the lols.
-Joseph= Notorious multi-headed troll which lurks deep in the forgotten depths, awaiting the the moment it may finally inflict its terrible agony upon others.

Named for the wicked troll creatures of children’s tales, trolling is purposely sowing hatred, bigotry, or just simple bickering between others. Trolls themselves are emotionally-immature users who thrive in any environment where they are allowed to make public comments, like blog sites, news sites, discussion forums, and game chat.
They are not named for the toll-taking trolls.
