Does anyone else have this problem? My darks come out with white spots on them. It sort of looks like I use powder detergent but I don’t – I use liquid. Any idea what the problem could be?
Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.
May 15, 2014 1:38 am at 1:38 am #1016037🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantwhite bleach spots, or something that comes off?
May 15, 2014 1:44 am at 1:44 am #1016038gefenParticipantNot bleach. It comes off (most of it) with a lot of rubbing. But still doesn’t look right. It’s so annoying.
May 15, 2014 2:04 am at 2:04 am #1016039Little FroggieMemberHelp with your laundry… well I usually charge $8.75 an hour, I guess I could go down a bit ..
Anyways, check to see there’s no tissues or papers stuffed in pockets.
May 15, 2014 2:11 am at 2:11 am #1016040👑RebYidd23ParticipantMaybe it’s white crayon if it happened in the dryer.
May 15, 2014 2:15 am at 2:15 am #1016041squeakParticipantI use Crisco and never have this problem
May 15, 2014 2:32 am at 2:32 am #1016042SayIDidIt™ParticipantI also have laundry problemS. Here’s one of them, which is driving me crazy! On some of my white shirts there are these “clear” stains. I don’t really know how to describe it, but it is not a stain with color but it makes the shirt like see through. I have no idea what this is. Waiting for your expert advice! Thanks very much!!

May 15, 2014 2:36 am at 2:36 am #1016043🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantsqueak – that’s very slick
May 15, 2014 2:36 am at 2:36 am #1016044👑RebYidd23ParticipantAre the spots shiny? If not, it’s probably just worn through, which is incurable if you don’t count patching it as fixing it.
May 15, 2014 2:41 am at 2:41 am #1016045Little FroggieMemberSiDi: Replacing them generally solves the problem.
May 15, 2014 2:44 am at 2:44 am #1016046popa_bar_abbaParticipantI also need help with my laundry.
Should really get married and never have to touch the stuff again.
May 15, 2014 3:25 am at 3:25 am #1016047gefenParticipantLitlle Froggie: ur a little too expensive 😉 But seriously – nope – no tissues, papers, etc.
rebyidd: nope – no crayons either. And it’s not worn through – these are real stains that appear after washing. And as i said, if i rub well enough it will come off, but it’s such a pain.
squeak: are you serious or joking? if serious, please elaborate.
Syag: good one!
May 15, 2014 5:11 am at 5:11 am #1016048kapustaParticipantDo you notice the stains after washing or after drying? The easiest fix would probably be to test another detergent.
May 15, 2014 5:17 am at 5:17 am #1016049the plumberMemberAgreed with pba. Get married
May 15, 2014 6:25 am at 6:25 am #1016050👑RebYidd23ParticipantBleach sometimes eats away at the fabric. That’s what I meant.
May 15, 2014 6:56 am at 6:56 am #1016051SayIDidIt™Participantpops – I agree a million percent! (It’s a good incentives to get married already. have someone for me?…)

May 15, 2014 8:59 am at 8:59 am #1016052kapustaParticipantOne more thing, is it possible you’re using a lot of detergent and the stains are soap residue?
Oh, and welcome back 🙂
May 15, 2014 12:24 pm at 12:24 pm #1016053gefenParticipantkapusta: thanks for the suggestions. I think I will try a new detergent and maybe less than what they say to use.
And thanks for the welcome back 🙂
May 16, 2014 2:43 am at 2:43 am #1016054YW Moderator-42ModeratorTry doing a “2nd rinse”. Or use a smaller load see if it happens with both loads to isolate the problem.
It could be the detergent you are using or perhaps one of the fabrics is leaking onto the others. Sometimes new clothes and towels can shed in the wash the first few washes.
May 16, 2014 4:07 am at 4:07 am #1016055gefenParticipantmod 42: thanks for the info. but i tried 2nd rinse and also tried smaller load. it was a dark wash so none of the fabrics would have leaked a white color.
so far this is just a mystery.
i’ll let everyone know if i figure out a way to get rid of this problem.
thanks everyone!
May 16, 2014 12:10 pm at 12:10 pm #1016056🐵 ⌨ GamanitParticipantLike rebyidd23 said, try using less bleach…
May 16, 2014 12:57 pm at 12:57 pm #1016057Shopping613 🌠ParticipantWelcome back SIDI…
I don’t know…you never know, I used to get these gray stains on the top of my shirt….turns out it was from all the mousse in my hair (not chocalate, or the animal, yes there is something called hair mousse) that I put so my curls would stop being so frizzy (puffy….I don’t know how to explain frizz to men)
I switched hair products and always dry my hair or put a towel on my shirt till it dries…
You really never know what the problem could be…
May 19, 2014 2:18 pm at 2:18 pm #1016058mewhoParticipanti use arm and hammer liquid, no spots leftover
May 20, 2014 1:50 am at 1:50 am #1016059gefenParticipantGamanit – I do not use bleach.
mewho- Thanks, I’ll try it.
May 20, 2014 6:55 am at 6:55 am #1016060👑RebYidd23ParticipantMaybe you should use bleach.
May 20, 2014 3:53 pm at 3:53 pm #1016061Torah613TorahParticipantSwitch to liquid detergent.
May 21, 2014 11:30 pm at 11:30 pm #1016062SayIDidIt™ParticipantShopping, thanks for the welcome back!
Umm, I don’t use any frizzy things for my hair so I guess we are not having the same problem. Glad you figured out what was making mousse on your clothing!
