    It depends on the standards of the community.

    As they are past 26 or 27, if female, and 30 or so, if male. Just my opinion, no scientific or empirical data, here.

    WIY, I think Rose Bank might be a good shidduch for Mort Lach.

    Depends on the community.

    A 35 year old single in MO circles isn’t considered an older single.

    It depends on the community. By the Chasidish 21 is an older single (boy or girl). By the Litvish 25 year old boys and 23 year old girls are older singles. By Modern Orthodox 27/28 year old boys and 25/26 year old girls are older singles.

    22-25 is old? No way! 29+ sounds older-ish, but 22-25? Seriously….

    Well then, if that’s the case I still have a lot of growing up to do until I become old…

    This sheds a lot of light on the shidduch “crisis.”

    This depends on the community. Generally, the MO communities don’t push marriage at a young age, and one frequently encounters singles in our community who are in their mid-to-late 30s.

    this is so ridiculous! i totally agree with bookworm120! 22- 25 is a great age to get married! as is 30!

    of course, everyone wants to get married sooner rather than later, but ultimately, Hashem is the one who runs this world, and He knows exactly the right time for each person to find their bashert. if He wants someone to get married at 30, or even older, who are you to disagree? we start dating younger because thats our hishtadlus, but its not up to us to decide when one is supposed to get married. i know a girl who got married at 21, and guess what? it ended up in a divorce! and now, a couple years later, she’s happily remarried. i’m not saying this goes for everyone, but you have to realize that while we are supposed to put in effort and not sit around waiting for things it to be handed to us on a silver platter, we also have to have emunah, and realize that everything Hashem does is for the best, and that He knows whats really best for us.

    daas yochid HAHAHA!!!

    I agree with WIY about the ages.

    my cousin just got engaged at 22. She had to wait and now she couldn’t be happier so it was worth the wait.

    @octopi – Thanks 🙂

    @need seminary help – I guess people have different standards in different communities. Different strokes for different folks, as they say. Mazel tov to your cousin! Don’t worry, she’s not old! If anything, she’s got a bit more maturity and experience than the girls who jumped right in at seventeen!
