    Anyone know where I can take a photography course on DSLR cameras?

    Any Senior Center or Y offering photography?

    I don’t know of any decent courses off hand. However, I can tell you that the best thing you can do is to just go out and shoot. Experiment with different apertures and shutter speeds. Try out different lighting situations.

    I’ve become (IMHO) somewhat decent at photography and it was largely through self-learning and lots of reading. There are plenty of photography learning sites (Digital Photography School is pretty good) that have lots of free content dedicated to helping people learn photography.

    The Wolf: Thank you so much. I am a beginner to digital photography, so I need at the moment a simplified course I guess leaving the Canon 4xi on automatic. I know that you get much better pictures when you set the aperture and shutter speeds, but I am not familiar with doing all this at present. I wouldnt know what to set it on, so by me leaving the camera on automatic, I would avoid the guessing and blury photos.

    First I need to learn the operation of the camera, and Iguess eventually I hope to learn more.

    i took a photography course, and most the learning was just reading a book. To learn your basic camera operations, why don’t you go through (or download) the full camera manual?
