Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) confronted former Nebraska Senator Chuck Hagel with a clip from his 2009 interview with Al Jazeera during today’s Defense Secretary confirmation hearing.
The Secretary of Defense nominee can be heard agreeing with a caller’s assertion that the United States is the “world’s bully.”
CRUZ: With respect the record speaks for itself it was in writing that she said that the U.S. is the world’s bully, that it is the “reality” and your response — you did say that you agree with it, you said you her observation is a good one, its relevant, “yes to her question.”
HAGEL: Senator, she said that was an observation
CRUZ: I will point out that her quote was, “The perception and the reality,” and with that my time is expired. I look forward to a second round.
As far as what we with our little amount of understanding can perceive, Hagel looks like a terrible choice. However, keep in mind that Hashem is the one orchestrating this!!! Daven!!
