The Jerusalem City Council approved a NIS 1 million to purchase tens of security cameras which will be installed in public areas in the capital. Most of the cameras were already installed, towards monitoring the situation regarding criminal and nationalistic attacks, and they have already proven effective in apprehending criminals during the past year.

In one case, a court was able to levy a fine against an assailant captured on camera defacing city property.
