I have spent a lot of time going through posts on this site and finally grew the courage to put a scenario to you. I’m an irreligious soldier in the IDF and am interested in returning to my roots, I come from a frum home, but the closed society turned me off(IMO). I was wondering what posters would suggest as begining steps to return. It seems that most people here have got a clear view on Judaism, there are those who I find extreme but I would also like to hear their opinion.
Most importantly do not spend time or get stuck in the Coffee Room, as I have said before as it could be grounds for divorce or similar- basically it is a modern contradiction what is banned(in herem) but goes on unabated in this very ill-lit area.
The Gemara says that the reason the letter Heh has an opening on top is to show that when you do Teshuva you don’t have to go back to where you came from. Turn around where you are and you are accepted.
