As we’re about to enter the exciting new phase of Elul – Yomim Noraim, I’d like to take the opportunity to humbly beg mechilah from posters, writer, viewers and members of this most fabulous site. Mods too. I have occasionally used strong, maybe biting remarks in the course of the year, during the heated topics. I am truly sorry, I truly hope to refrain in the future, and therefore beg forgiveness. This goes for any sins of the “mouth” (keyboard), whether onaas devarim, lashon hara, halbanas panim etc.
A special call-out to ARIES, OOMIS, SYAG. Feif Un, Lesschumras too.
Joseph too – I may have started that whole fiasco earlier this year.
I may not have time (or mind-frame) to write or post later, if emergency arises mods do know my email-address, they can forward the crisis.
I cannot totally “turn off” this most wonderful place, I will probably be looking from time to time (ha ha, from minute to minute), but hope to be able to hold myself from posting till…
May EVERYONE be gebentched with an uplifting, fulfilling Elul, and a good “SWEET”, Torah filled new year!

August 17, 2012 12:39 am at 12:39 am #969359ZeesKiteParticipantNO! You got me wrong. I’m not leaving. (I can’t). I’d just rather lay low here during this serious, solemn season, as much as possible. I may need the time to do computer work (cheshbon hanefesh). Can be sure I’m thinking of you all. Esp. some close, good friends here!!
August 17, 2012 1:26 am at 1:26 am #969360yummy cupcakeMemberzeeskite, ur the best! i forgive you if you did anything that requires being forgiven, i just hope that you forgive me too, if there was anything i have done as well…
and to all posters,i know i specifically started up with popa and dorafelder (?) recently, i hope you forgive me. Sometimes what i said wasn’t nice, and I will IY”H work really hard on being as nice and as peaceful as i could.
Wishing all a meaningful beautiful ruchniyusdik year, and may those looking for their bashert find him/her very soon (i think there are a few of us on the cr 🙂 ) and may anyone who needs a yeshua be granted it, and may we all be zoche to much simcha and bracha lasting forever, ad bias hamoshiach, b’mheira v’yameinu!
August 17, 2012 2:52 am at 2:52 am #969361gefenParticipantOk – I guess I should join it also.
Popa and I have had some “interesting” conversations/arguments. So I supposed I should ask forgiveness for anything nasty I may have said. What do you say Popa? Are you mochel me?
As for anyone else I may have offended, I ask your mechila as well.
Elul is a very auspicious time of year so it really is important to clear our slates as best as we can. Sinas chinam is a terrible thing. So let’s do our best to eradicate it and bring Moshiach – bimhayra b’yameinu – Amen.
August 17, 2012 4:11 am at 4:11 am #969362SayIDidIt™Participantyummy cupcake: AMEN!! That was very nice! Same for you, your family and all of Klal Yisroel!

August 20, 2012 4:48 am at 4:48 am #969365oomisParticipantZK – you are a gem. May we ALL have a gebensched year.
Today, I was zocheh to attend a bris, and for the very first time in my life, heard the shofar being blown on Rosh Chodesh Elul. I have never heard a shofar prior to Rosh Hashanah. It was an amazing experience for me, and made me very emotional.
August 21, 2012 2:57 am at 2:57 am #969366gefenParticipantoomis: Wow! Very moving! I work in a cheder and when school starts, one of the Rebbeim blows the shofar every morning of Elul. This year school starts in the middle of next week. So I can’t wait to hear the beautiful sound of the shofar.
August 5, 2013 7:07 pm at 7:07 pm #969368Oh Shreck!ParticipantThat time of year again. Gotta start early (is it ever early?), like they say – avoid the Ellul rush.
September 27, 2017 11:08 pm at 11:08 pm #1372493Little FroggieParticipantOOHH!!!! Decades and life spans ago!!!!
(such GOOD OLD times..)
And now I come, again, to humbly beg Mechilla from anyone I may have hurt, angered, caused pain or distress, through any of my remarks. In a setting such as the CR it is often very hard to read into other’s circumstances, matzav, mood or situation. No one here knows if and what another may be suffering from, what makes them tick. His / her nisyonos, wants, cravings urges, indeed – entire makeup. So often a misstep or extra word in the wrong direction really rubs deep. Really deep. And hurtful. Very. (and if Mom wouldn’t be reading this, I’d say I know this from personal experience. Been there. Big time!!)
לעולם יהא אדם זהיר באונאת אשתו, שמתוך שדמעתה מצויה, אונאתה קרובה
Meforshim point out, it’s not only Ishto, it’s anyone in that Matzav. Anyone close to tears. And those tears are powerful… scary… Chazal enumerate some instances where tears were shed…So, in light of the above, I beg each and every one of you, who I have tangled in the past, to please be Mochel me, with a full heart. I already made up, privately, to one I knew I hurt specifically, please too find it in your hearts to forgive.
