When I was a kid, if you had a silly shaila in your kitchen, you called a posek, he answered the phone, and told you the answer.
Now, you call, you get a voicemail, and you feel bad leaving one because your question isn’t important enough. You can never get through!
There are simply too many people who care about halacha now, and are constantly calling poskim. Enough already.
Is this where we ask Shailas?
Or maybe not enough people using their seichel, memory, and the investment their parents made in their education to look up a tshuva or recall it from the last time the issue came up.
You’re right. The only answer is to have everyone learn the relevant sections in Yoreh De’ah before they get married.
It sure seems to me that more people try to have their shailos paskened in the CR than seem to be calling competent Rabbonim…
Hmm morahmom.. what if the poskim just paskened shailas on the CR? Then, instead of calling up the posek we could just do a Google search on the CR and find the tshuvas. You’re brilliant!!!

popa, because i know ur bad attitude towards almost everything there is to have a bad attitude about, let me set you straight and remind you that Torah, mitzvos, halacha, etc, are our ways of getting closer to Hashem. Yes, we all should care.

I don’t know what dayan you call but I can always call a dayan and always get an answer on the spot without talking to a machine and not just stam someone with a R-A-B-B-I in front of their name but a big talmid chacham who knows daled chelkei shilchan urich. I don’t want to say his name here but he is well known in the chasidish community and I used to eat by him when I was buchor and always used to ask him shailos by the shabbos tish. a real tzadik with Yiras Shumayim.
