Yes, Those of us who live in NY are getting lots of it lately.
Yes, it’s annoying.
Yes, it ruins many precisely planned-out days.
Yes, it causes so much frizz that you feel like you are in a 60s era time-warp.
So, can I hear some cool rain facts to help me rid myself of this negative feeling I have toward one of Hashem’s most essential creations?

That’s the one of the BEST blessings HaShem send us. How much of our lives depend on it. How the whole world depends on it. Read wheat Rabbi Miller ??”? says about this topic.
In my opinion, the dreariness and gloominess of the rainy days is only that on days when we’re not so blessed, we should at least be consoled, uplifted with the contrast of a cheery sunshine.

Not trying to bust anyones bubble but rain in the Us depends where you live
If you live in NYC, it rains about 40 inches a year, In Miami its about 60 inches a year
If you live in Las Vegas its about 2 inches a year
If you live in Los Angeles its about 12 inches a year
If you live in Phoenix its about 8 inches a year
Does that Mean NY is Holier than than Phoenix?
Does that Mean LA is holier than Vegas?
In Jerusalem its 22 inches, is NY and Miami more blessed than Jerusalem?

Between 10:00 and 10:30, Brooklyn experienced heavy rainfall (and I mean HEAVY), in which I was caught, sans umbrella.
You know what crossed my mind first? This thread I started yesterday! So I decided to put my own question to test. And guess what? I just splashed through the huge pools collecting at every street corner, let my freshly done hair get soaked, and let my new leather shoes shrink temporarily.
And I smiled to myself 🙂
Those facts and things about rain are really nice! Thanks!

May 24, 2012 11:51 pm at 11:51 pm #876520FashionableeMemberWell, I always wear wellies, but my lil sister stole them before I woke up.
And so, alas, I forged ahead into the open world without proper footgear.
