Think of a 2-digit number between 1 and 50 in which both digits are odd and different. Do you have your number? If you don’t, please don’t read ahead, but if you do is it thirty seven?
April 30, 2012 12:11 am at 12:11 am #871540writersoulParticipantI heard that one before.
Fact is, there are only three possible answers, making it a pretty good chance that they will pick 37.
Just BTW, I picked 31.

April 30, 2012 12:15 am at 12:15 am #871542moishyParticipantnot a mod- by mistake I read ahead, but why can’t the person pick 39?
April 30, 2012 12:31 am at 12:31 am #871543not a modMember9 out of 10 times a person chooses 37:). writersoul: there are actually 8 possible answers: 13,15,17,19,31,35,37,and 39.
April 30, 2012 12:47 am at 12:47 am #871544netazarParticipantHuh? I picked 13. What about 15, 17, 19, 31, 35, 39 ?
April 30, 2012 1:23 am at 1:23 am #871545not a modMembernetazar: As I said before most people pick 37, not everybody-its a cool trick to do on friends(if it works).
April 30, 2012 1:50 am at 1:50 am #871546writersoulParticipantWhoops! I misread the question. The one I heard was between 20 and 50, making it practically impossible to guess much besides 37. And yes, I forgot 39. Chatati aviti pashati.
Basically, the way it works (at least my way) is that you automatically think 30 out of necessity, and then the human brain naturally thinks of a number above that. People believe that 35 is too obvious, so they pick the next one, which is 37.
That’s the way it was explained to me by a magician, so I’ll take his word for it.
I have no idea how it could work not a mod’s way. Too many variables.
April 30, 2012 3:05 am at 3:05 am #871547gefenParticipantmy husband picked 39 and one of my daughters picked 19. i did say 37, so i guess i’m normal and my family….. um… we’ll just leave it at that. 😉
actually my mother in law also said 37 – so does that make her normal too?
April 30, 2012 4:15 am at 4:15 am #871548oomisParticipantI picked 37, my son picked 31.
April 30, 2012 5:59 am at 5:59 am #871549amichaiParticipantany reason pple usually pick that number?
April 30, 2012 10:16 am at 10:16 am #871550haifagirlParticipantThink of a 2-digit number between 1 and 50 in which both digits are odd and different. Do you have your number? If you don’t, please don’t read ahead, but if you do is it thirty seven?
I picked 35.
And by the way, how many two-digit numbers are there between 1 and 9? I would use “between 10 and 50.”
works every time
I think the posters here have proven that’s not true.
April 30, 2012 3:21 pm at 3:21 pm #8715512qwertyParticipantActually i have a reason why people should pick 13. Because as soon as they hear
2-digit number between 1 and 50 in which both digits are odd
They start thinking about 1x and 3x and then they hear about
and different
So they should automatically decide to use both of those numbers and get 13.
But like we see here it didnt happen most of the time.
April 30, 2012 11:33 pm at 11:33 pm #871552YW Moderator-42ModeratorI picked 13.
May 1, 2012 7:56 pm at 7:56 pm #871553mitzvahgirl613ParticipantI, like haifagirl picked 35. At 1st I thought i wasn’t normal!
May 1, 2012 9:29 pm at 9:29 pm #871554ED IT ORParticipantI picked 35blah blah blah
guess what I also did..
Everyone is unique and everyone’s brain works in a different way
so just appreciate that we are more intelligent than your average imbecile!
But top trick anyway!
