I cannot fully express how happy and thankful I am that the Rabbonim are finally addressing one of the biggest issues in today’s modern world.
However, I have a major problem with having the gathering at City Field. Why does it have to be there? Why can’t the major Gedolim gather somewhere less opulent and perhaps the money being used to fund this program can be given to the many frum families that are in desperate need of money? I don’t really see the point of thousands of people gathering to watch the Gedolim converse. Its not like they are taking part in the conversation. I know that many will answer that by having it at a major complex it shows the importance of the issue in today’s frum world but I don’t believe that’s a good enough reason. It seems pointless to me to have thousands of people watch the gedolim converse when these gedolim could just converse in some big shul or hall.

1. Is that true? I didn’t see any indication that it was going to be streamed.*
2. Assuming the message isn’t simply a blanket ban, why should it be funny that it’s being streamed?
The Wolf
* Yes, I know that my failure to see any indication does not constitute proof of lack of said indication.
April 24, 2012 11:39 pm at 11:39 pm #870419zahavasdadParticipantSince internet is basically banned in Lakewood, why would someone who doesnt have internet want to go
April 24, 2012 11:44 pm at 11:44 pm #870420yitayningwutParticipantPeople from Lakewood don’t go to stadiums anyway.

That’s exactly why some are going – to feel that they’re better than the next guy, even if they don’t have it.
April 25, 2012 12:30 am at 12:30 am #8704242qwertyParticipantWhat are they doing about all the dot com ads around the stadium?
April 25, 2012 1:46 am at 1:46 am #870425writersoulParticipantWhy didn’t they record it ahead of time and do a video, like organizations such as CCHF do?
April 25, 2012 2:06 am at 2:06 am #870426yitayningwutParticipantChas veshalom Goq!
(winks inconspicuously)
April 25, 2012 2:09 am at 2:09 am #870427Yosi7MemberDo you have to buy tickets?
April 25, 2012 2:09 am at 2:09 am #870428YatzmichMemberyitay,
In Lakewood you’re not even allowed to say or spell the word stadium. That’s why all the events that are held there are listed as “taking place on the corner of New Hampshire and Cedar Bridge.
April 25, 2012 3:20 am at 3:20 am #870429147ParticipantI shan’t be available to attend the Asifah, because I shall be busy that day observing Yom Yerusholayim, for the 45th time.
I also shall be busy that day, studying Sepher Shmuel in honor of his Yohrzeit.
April 25, 2012 7:55 pm at 7:55 pm #870430apushatayidParticipantwill it be streamed live for all those who can not make it to flushing?
