April 22, 2012 2:30 pm at 2:30 pm #869630HaKatanParticipantThere are other options, like Cleveland, for out-of-town Yeshivos and seminaries, though Eretz Yisrael is, of course, not directly comparable to anywhere else, even if the overall educational gain is not necessarily better there than, lihavdil, in chutz LaAretz.
The neviim have some pretty scary things to say about what Eretz Yisrael will be like right before the geulah BB”A. Then again, there’s some scary stuff about “Melech Paras” and the rest of the world as well.
May Hashem watch over and protect all His children wherever they may be.
April 22, 2012 3:12 pm at 3:12 pm #869631gefenParticipantIt’s a very frightening thought, but I’m sure a lot of ppl will still send their children. It takes a lot of Bitachon. We must know that Hashem is in charge.
I heard a story about a girl who was supposed to go to seminary in 2001. Her parents were so frightened because of what was going on in Israel at the time so they decided to keep her home. She got a job in the twin towers….well she was in the building on 9/11. So we never know what’s in store for us.
I’m not saying I would make this decision so easily to send a child to Israel. If any of my children were supposed to go next year, I would surely be having second thoughts and possibly keep them home. I don’t know. Does that mean I don’t have enough Bitachon? Or would I be doing my hishtadlus to keep my children safe?
Let’s just Daven that every Jew should be safe there?
