A Queens man who was drunk and spray-painted swastikas and other anti-Semitic writings will get no jail time. James Connolly, 21, was sentenced yesterday to five years’ probation and ordered to do 10 days of community service at a Jewish center.
In May 2005, Connolly roamed through Fresh Meadows, drawing swastikas on parked cars. He wrote, “Kill the Jews on 7/14/05” on bus shelters and mailboxes along Jewel Avenue. July 14 refers to the date Adolf Hitler banned all political parties, except the Nazis.

flatbusher – I disagree – if he new that July 14th was a significant date in nazi history, he will be likely to think that he got away with it (which he did). I would not be surprised if his hatred of Jews increases during his 10 days of community service. my prediction – he will be in the news again for more anti-semitic acts.

If tzaros come upon us and we look at it as derech hateva (comparing to Arab outrage (flatbusher) or caring about this sub human’s response (mdlevine)), then we are choosing derech achzarios. Sorry for my poor paraphrasing of the Rambam, but l’fi anios daati, the Ribono Shel Olam doesn’t want us to care about how America punishes (or not) or how this sub human responds (or doesn’t). He wants us to do teshuva. When we live Torah, their hatred won’t go away, but we’ll be protected by Hashem.

The Queens man was drunk – the lowest types of behavior are exhibited while under the influence (DWI * look at the worst vehicular accidents that occur while DWI). He deserves punishment and reprimand, since his behavior will be duplicated by others if no punishment is rendered.
i feel that if the guys from dunkin donuts that assaulted an arab are facing jail time,i think its ridiculous that nothings happening to him.his actions are basicly saying that hitler yimochshimom vzichron was right and he agrees with him,its ok if you want to say there was no action involved but if i would start making paintings against 9/11 i would be i serious trouble.
