How can a parent not vaccinate their children?
Unless the parents are smart enough, and has gone to medical school and spoke to educated people about their concerns on the “risks” of shots- which i do understand, there should be no reason why a parent is dumb enough not to give their childrens vaccines!
I have heard mothers giving the dumbest reasons for why they do not want to give their kids shots:
“my shvigger told me not to”
“the prick hurts ME”
etc etc
and i can say that 50% of these neglegant parent are responsible for serious desises going around. Like Whooping Cough/Pertusis, Measels/Mumps etc.
what do U think?
February 1, 2012 5:11 pm at 5:11 pm #847568skiaddictMemberThere is a lot of evidence proving that many seemingly innocent vaccinations are in fact a risk, and can cause serious conditions, including autism, even death although that is rare.
A doctor i know personally is extremely against giving children these routine vaccinations, because of the amount she herself has seen occurring from them.
Besides for the fact that very often these vaccinations do not help, as there are so many strains of every disease and its practically impossible to be vaccinated against them all, and very often children who have been immunized against a disease will get it anyway.
Most of these diseases are unpleasant but harmless, and getting them gives a much better lifelong immunity than a shot does.
I personally had all these diseases when i was a kid, as did many of my cousins and siblings, and honestly, we are all totally fine, the only effects are a much stronger immune system bh.
Like i said, its unpleasant, but not dangerous, and the risks of the vaccines are very real, and many ppl just do not want to take risks with their kids.

The “evidence” has long been debunked and the producers of that evidence unmasked as frauds.

If you had all of them and lived to tell the tale, you must have been one sickly child. You’re lucky you didn’t contract polio!
February 1, 2012 8:16 pm at 8:16 pm #847571skiaddictMemberMeasles, mumps and chickenpox and flu i had, and polio is basically extint.
enlightenedjew – there is loads of evidence, i would post google links if i could -search youself, and my doctor relative has firsthand experience of many cases of really bad effects of vaccinations.
People should not blindly believe their doctors, who often have their own agenda, or else are being forced to go by the governments agenda.
February 1, 2012 9:40 pm at 9:40 pm #847572mamashtakahMemberI thought by law kids had to be vaccinated before starting school. Is that only for public schools?
February 1, 2012 10:52 pm at 10:52 pm #847573OneOfManyParticipantOnly NY has these strict vaccination regulations for schools. It’s weird.

This epidemic isn’t really due to the fact of Non-vaccinating parents as opposed to the other epidemics.

Most of your statement is blatanly false.
“A doctor i know personally is extremely against giving children these routine vaccinations, because of the amount she herself has seen occurring from them.”
She is incompetent. No normal medical professional holds this way.
I do believe you said you live in the UK. So wake up people -keep Mr. B. Obama in office next year and we will have socialized medicine. No more immunizations -our socialist gov. can’t afford it – just like they do in England.
“Besides for the fact that very often these vaccinations do not help, as there are so many strains of every disease and its practically impossible to be vaccinated against them all, and very often children who have been immunized against a disease will get it anyway.”
So do you think more people will come down with these illnesses or less if they bother to get vaccinated??

And again your statement is false! The risk of contracting the disease outweighs the risk of the immunization. This is basic medical theory. In other words, there is a bigger chance of dying from the disease than from the shot! This is why the gov. pushes people to get vaccinated!

I want to underscore what skiaddict posted.
The studies and facts are in by many esteemed medical practitioners.
The problem is the integrity of the pharmaceutical and medical establishment has dropped a great deal. I dont know why it is the case, but that is another story.
That is not to say there are not life savers in both fields. There are! And my G-d bless them.
But one victim of bad medicine and a bad script is one person too many: Ask them and find out.
Parents want their kids protected, but the fact is, what goes into those syringes is not 100% kosher.
Many things are included, for cost and convenience which are said “the risk of what the vaccine protects outweighs the potential complications “
I can understand parents wanting to take ZERO risk for the healthy development of their babies. Most of us can understand that.
I can also understand the confusion that there exists viable medical information and studies by professionals supporting any and all views.
It’s a tough call these days.
May Hashem give everyone in need a Refuah Shelayma, and keep them and everyone else healthy!

Tell these parents we don’t live in Utopia. They should grow up and realize -you can’t create a 100% safe drug or vaccine! But it’s still better to vaccinate than Not!
“I can also understand the confusion that there exists viable medical information and studies by professionals supporting any and all views.”
Name one study that says -Not to vaccinate? I don’t know of any. The one that there was -was retracted!
February 2, 2012 6:41 pm at 6:41 pm #847579BTGuyParticipantHi Health.
I am surprised that you purport to be in the health care business and seem to be oblivious that there are respected physicians and clinics and studies that both support standardized medicine and pharmaceuticals, and those equally respected who condemn them.
You really cannot accept that fact??
People have become quite sophisticated as medical consumers, at least information-wise, so there is no need for me to search and hunt for valuable information only for you to present your biased view of those studies and physicians you dont agree with.
There are enough circular arguments here to open up a hula hoop company and do very well. lol
Caveat Emptor!
But most of all, everyone should enjoy good health.
: )
PS. Please dont assume that my not wanting to provide a plethora of the information which you request as being a proof that none exists. That would not be the case.
February 2, 2012 6:57 pm at 6:57 pm #847580yiddishemishpachaMemberHealth: Thank you so much for the information. I wish I had it when my son was in the parsha because I was so pressured to NOT vaccinate and BH I did not listen to bubba maises (spell?:) and DID vaccinate my child. I was pretty paranoid each time though and fearful that he may have a bad reaction. Still, I have to say that I never did more than 1 (or 2 shots if it had to be that way) at a time. Unless they have a medical degree and have done research in this area you should not give your opinion on a medical issue. I was once at a playground when my son had bad mosquito bites all over that were healing but still looked like possible marks from chicken pox when another mother approached me and asked if he had chicken pox. I told her that he did not and… she was very disappointed. It turns out that she wanted her daughter to get it…because she doesn’t believe in vaccinations.

You didn’t answer the question!!!!
“Name one study that says -Not to vaccinate?”
February 2, 2012 7:33 pm at 7:33 pm #847582tahiniMemberWow !! Health I totally agree with you.
To parents reading these posts from those against vaccinations, please note nothing in life is full proof, nothing at all.
With regards to German Measles (rubella) Whooping Cough etc ask major hospitals how many young children they treat who have suffered life long disabilites and hardship as a result of catching these illnesses.
Rubella can seriously affect the unborn leading to blindness, whooping cough can result in shockingly high fevers and convulsions. Baruch Hashem the figures are not overly high. But my husband is a paediatrican treating tiny kids from time to time who have suffered from these tragic conditions following rubella or whooping cough epidemics.
