Does it matter in shidduchim if my daughter goes to a seminary in america over israel? or if she dosent go at all and goes straight to stern??
It depends on the boy – some boys want only a girl who learned in Israel, while others want only someone who did not go to Israel…. usually those that want to live in Israel after are looking for girls who learned there – personally, I think she should do what’s best for her and when the right guy comes along – he’ll like her for who she is – not for which sem she attended!
If he’s petty enough to want the “image” and not the person who had enough brains to do what she thought was best for her… he’s not for you. My mother in law is very anti-israeli sems… but she let her son marry me anyway!!
If you are first worrying about shidduchim now you are way too late.
It doesn’t matter at this point.
It is another “thing” to be able to check off, along with dress size and eye color. I agree that if it is on his list of “requirements” but wasn’t the right thing for the girl (or Tatty’s bank account) then they boy is the misguided one here. No 25 or 30 year old girl will say “if only I had gone to BJJ then I would be married already.” It is unfortunately, a sickness to think its a requirement.
Some guys don’t like when they hear a girl went to seminary in Israel because she might have been brainwashed.
