I still favor Cain.

At this point i would vote for a cardboard box over voting for Obama.

Romney is steady at around 25-30% while the others take chances rising and then falling. Nobody realy loves Romney but he is the best chance the GOP has to beat Obama. He is a good debator and runs a well orgenized campeign. Gingrich is probebly the most competent of the bunch but is not very likeble and has a lot of baggege aldough he can make the argument that he metured since he left congress in 1998.

I am backing Romney. As for Cain, he proved to me he is a fool, and I can’t deal with another fool in the white house. Cain vs Obama would be an Election over which is the best of the worst?

Not only is Cain a predator, he is inexperienced (even less than Obama was) and not even interested in world events. Being on the campaign trail is no excuse for not knowing what is going on in the world. To me that means he is a narcissist who only cares about what is going on with his campaign and himself. That is a dangerous quality for head of our country. So lets NOT make that mistake again.

I would vote for a cardboard box over Obama, too. But you can add Gingrich to that list. I clearly remember when Newt came up with his Contract with America to dramatically cut govt’ spending, Clinton, another champ of the political arena, pointed his finger, squinted his eye as he tilted his head, and warned that Newt’s contract would leave America’s security agencies dangerously understaffed. But Newt continued and went for the fame and did it “his way”.

Well, after 911, the 911 Report cited the chief problem leading up to 911 catastrophe was that not only were our security agencies dangerously understaffed, but the understaffing situation to monitor “chatter” from suspected and known terrorists, was said to be “at a crisis level”. Newt has no foresight or vision either and is just another talking head. L’havdil, no one but Moshiach can fix this.

I’m not ready to put the blame for 9/11 on Gingrich shoulders. It’s not only a funding problem that has caused the military/intelligence to be outdated and to be caught by surprise on 9/11.

I think we have to give Gingrich a serious and thoughtful look, simply because he is still the most intelligent, knowledgeable and experienced candidate. The press is tearing him apart now, over personal and political baggage, and it is interesting to watch how he responds. Is the Freddie Mac consultant fees really critical? Are we willing to give him slack on the divorces/cheating since he publicly says he asked God for forgiveness and asked for reconciliation? One thing can be said for sure, he is not running away nor denying. In fact he is inviting them to dig, saying if you can’t take the heat you don’t deserve to be president.

I think many people are finding him to be a refreshing change from intellectual pablum usually served up by these campaigns. Some of the other candidates really need to bow out gracefully now, since they have shown themselves to be unqualified.

Cain has time to convince people the charges are false. The ones based on when he was running the restaurant trade group probably involve the accusers’ resentment at having an inner city African American as boss. The Bialik/Allred charge could be a hoax (and implies both a witness to what could only have happened in a limo with a driver, and a paper trail pertaining to hotel payments) as will probably be clarified in the next few months. Not have slick answers to every question isn’t a problem, especially about foreign affairs since this is a year for a non-politician who will focus on the domestic economy.

Perry isn’t hopeless but he has to work on his stage presence.

Romney is flexible enough to embrace good ideas from the other candidates and convince everyone that he’s the man to implement them.

Gingrich can easily talk about learning from mistakes and embrace what will get him elected. He likes being a senior statesman, except most people want radical change.

The election isn’t for a year.

The focus can only be on the economy so long as there is no major security threat. Remember how fast the focus on #1 priority changed on 9/11?? Overnight.
