does anyone know of computer games for older children that are appropriate for Bnei Torah> If possible, can you please post how/where I can get it? Thank You!! 😉
November 1, 2011 12:22 am at 12:22 am #829832icecreamMemberMoishy, it is extremely hard to find any online so your best bet is to go to a jewish store and ask them for any. 🙂
November 1, 2011 12:50 am at 12:50 am #829833✡onegoal™ParticipantOlder children as in teens or like 10 year olds? For kids 10-12 there are a few games made by Humongus Entertainment. Try spy fox for kids about 12. A little less advanced is freddie fish. And for 6-8 year olds try putt putt. They are all not jewish but kosher and there are several different games with each character. For teens there is a game called supreme commanders, which is a war game but between robots not humans, so it is not gory
November 1, 2011 2:24 am at 2:24 am #829834moishyParticipanticecream: Which jewish stores would carry these kind of stuff?
onegoal: For kids around 12, anything else by humongous entertainment or other such companies? Also, what is spy fox? How can I find out more about games by humongous entertainment?

November 1, 2011 11:58 pm at 11:58 pm #829838✡onegoalâ„¢ParticipantI did post but the mods didn’t like it. Go to the atari website, they are the creators of alot of games.

November 6, 2011 2:47 am at 2:47 am #829846moishyParticipantthanks for all those other ones-any1 know if they still make ea sports games for PC? Do know where and for how much I can get them for online?? Thanks in advance.
November 6, 2011 4:40 am at 4:40 am #829847hockaroundtheclockMemberTry “Angry Birds” it’s free on google chrome’s app store.(it’s very addictive though)
November 6, 2011 4:53 am at 4:53 am #829848MiddlePathParticipantYes, EA Sports still makes games. In my opinion, their Madden and NHL games are the best. If you want a basketball game, I’d go with 2K Sports, not NBA Live. For baseball, also go with 2K Sports. You can always find them cheap if they’re from the previous year, at any Gamestop or EB Games, or any online store. Or you can get the new games for a higher price, which I wouldn’t recommend. You can always get the previous year’s game and just update the rosters for the current year, and create new players that are rookies. Unless you specifically want the new games’ new features.
November 6, 2011 5:06 am at 5:06 am #829849✡onegoal™ParticipantHock- I use firefox but have used chrome. Where is the app store I never noticed it? Do I have to make an account?
November 6, 2011 12:04 pm at 12:04 pm #829850moishyParticipantMiddlePath-Even for PC??
November 6, 2011 1:12 pm at 1:12 pm #829851soliekMemberPortal 1 and Portal 2 are appropriate i would say
November 6, 2011 7:36 pm at 7:36 pm #829852moishyParticipantDoes any1 know anything about the game called driver? Where online can I get it?
November 6, 2011 9:00 pm at 9:00 pm #829853✡onegoal™Participantmoishy- No but another website you should look at is bigfishgames.com. It has loads of games for all ages.
November 6, 2011 9:10 pm at 9:10 pm #829854moishyParticipantonegoal-thanks. I’m asking more abt the sports games as lemaysa and MiddlePath mentioned. Guys- anymore abt those??
November 7, 2011 1:26 am at 1:26 am #829855MiddlePathParticipantmoishy, yes, even for PC.
And for PC racing games, it depends what style you want. If you want track racing, go with GTR. If you want arcade style racing, go with Need for Speed or Flat Out. If you just want to have fun in a car, go with Trackmania or Test Drive Unlimited. And if you want some of everything, go with Grid.
November 7, 2011 5:13 am at 5:13 am #829856hockaroundtheclockMemberOnegoal, if you’re really a phd. you shouldn’t have trouble finding it. Just use google chrome, hit new tab, and click apps.
November 8, 2011 3:03 am at 3:03 am #829857moishyParticipantMiddlePath-do they still make Need for Speed? Also, if they still make ea sports games for PC, how come they didn’t have it in the game stores I went to?
November 8, 2011 3:47 am at 3:47 am #829858MiddlePathParticipantWhich stores have you gone to? If you can’t find them in stores, you can certainly find them online.
And yes, Need for Speed is still coming out with new games. I believe a new one is coming out in a week or two, called “The Run”. My favorite NFS games are Shift, Underground, and Carbon. Also, if you are getting an NFS game and want more cars that didn’t come with the game, you can go to nfscars.net and download specific user-generated cars for your NFS game. That’s how I get all my cars.
November 8, 2011 5:41 pm at 5:41 pm #829859enlightenedjewMemberNeed for Speed games are great
SimCity – also awesome, totally different genre though.
November 8, 2011 5:50 pm at 5:50 pm #829860Sam2ParticipantSimTower and SimFarm were both endless entertainment when I needed it growing up.

November 9, 2011 5:56 pm at 5:56 pm #829864iBumpMemberfor older kids age of empires III is great. it requires a lot of thinking and planning, but it requires a high procceser on your computer. by the way its a war game so if you find conducting and managing wars objectional dont get it. you can get it on ebay

November 9, 2011 10:21 pm at 10:21 pm #829867Queen BeeMemberI posted my list a few days ago, but the mods didn’t let it through. I’ll try again:
1) Roller Coaster Tycoon, Zoo Tycoon, any tycoon is fun.
2) Nancy Drew if you want mysteries.
3) Sim City.
4) I love the Caesar series. You’re a governor and your job is to manage a city. It’s fun for kids. There is a bit of Roman Mythology, so if you’re not okay with that, then maybe it’s not good for your kids.
5) Chicken Invaders
6) Age of Empires. But be careful because Age of Empires 3 has a multiplayer (online) feature.
7) Mystery Case Files–hidden object game
November 10, 2011 3:09 am at 3:09 am #829868soliekMemberage of empires 3 was a travesty. the only AoE game worth playing was 2

November 25, 2011 9:19 am at 9:19 am #829879MichaelCMemberIf you are playing computer games just to relax you, then its fine, but if are playing computer games to have a ‘good time’ (as Rav Moshe Feinstein says), then its Bitul Torah, and/or nullifying a more constructive action like doing a Mitzvo.
