It seems like Hashem’s been going out of His way to make shidduchim.
When the boys are little, they don’t look at the girls. “Pink?! Ugh, that’s so GIRLY!”, they say.
Little girls don’t enjoy the boys either. They love playing with their dolls, play “school” etc. “Boys are so insensitive and wild!”
And suddenly…BOOM! They turn 18, 19, 20…and, “Please, Hashem. I want to find my bashert SOON!”
Huh?
But that’s only the beginning. Girls and women alike have this craving to dress provacative way.
And the men? They crave to look at them!
It sure looks like Hashem’s working hard to pair up the man and the woman. What for? Why do MEN have to marry WOMEN? They’re complete opposites!
Any ideas?

However it really goes deeper than that!

If G-d simply asked us to marry an individual or certain type of specie that very closely resembles us in terms of our values, needs, desires, etc., marriage wouldn’t be a growing experience. It wouldn’t help us reach our potential to be sensitive, perceptive, and try to understand others, and because of that, there would be no purpose (aside, perhaps, from having children). Marriage between man and woman, because they are so different, gives a couple the chance to grow and reach their potential in understanding each other, accepting each other, respecting each other, and loving each other. Perhaps BECAUSE of this “opposing” relationship, G-d is showing us and giving us the opportunity to get the most out of marriage.
