Halachically, why would a person need a succah if their on a Chol HaMoed trip, at work, or on the highway? The halacha is, “Teishvu K’ein TeDuru”- you must live in the succa as you would live in your house. So if I go on a trip to an amusement park, and I am no longer at home, I don’t shlep my house with me! So I should be potur from eating in a succa whenever I am not home! What’s pshat in a pop-up succa?? Can someone clarify this issue, am I mistaken?
Just bring your pop-up sukka to the park and you’ll get a number of requests “borrowing” it- what a great way to get extra zchuyos!

one not everybody “holds” from the pop up succah i was once sp on chol hamoed and a family was making a bbq the had acard board box from a referator and some leaves on top and they were taking turns eating in it cheap and inteasting everybody stoped and was taking pictures of them they sure where “stopping traffic”
I think R’ Moshe addresses this in the Igros (as do, I am sure, other poskim). I dont know his answer, but I do know that a major point of discussion is the question, for a dvar r’shus (such as a trip to the park) may you put yourself in a situation where you will not have a succah (or be able to perform other mitzvos).
Achilas keva is assur outside a sukkah and presumably the yom tov pleasure trip is to enhance the chag which should include achilas keva so therefore you need a sukkah.
What if ur travelling long distance just to get somewhere (ex: going to in laws for 2nd days) – the trip itself is not for the pleasure of y”t but we will need to eat on the way. Most likely we’ll stop to eat in gas stations etc. We DO have a popup sukkah, just wondering if it’s necessary according to this post.
This is a shayla for your Rav, if the halacha is not clear to you (this halacha is discussed…I don’t remember what the SA says).
