    Hey, everyone, I put up a new song on Soundcloud. I actually had it on my computer for a while, I just forgot about it.

    It’s called Aitz Chayim. It actually has hebrew words. And please go easy on my singing, I know it’s not very good…But it’s a nice tune.

    It has a very pleasant sound. (Thats a good thing)

    I like the one titled “song 4”. I’m just an average listener, but IMO its very good (and also pleasant).

    yeah thats one thing but even until then I might not be around so often. Im so busy its nuts. i never knew there is so much to do before marriage.

    Yes, I’m in school. I recorded this song over the course of the week, 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there. There’s always time to do something you love!

    IMO, the best song you put up. The lyrics are beautiful, I love the tune and the song is very touching. And it feels so much more special because you wrote it. I especially love the ending. Great job and keep them coming!

    Hey everyone, I finally had the time to record my “Yom Kippur” song (The one that I posted the lyrics for in the Poetry thread around yom kippur time). So check it out on Soundcloud!

    It is bordering on Heavy Metal though, so if you’re not into that, turn down your speakers. If you ARE into that, turn UP your speakers!

    So, I was able to get enough school work done to sit down and record something new! Just put it up on Soundcloud now. Check it out!

    It’s simply an instrumental cover of D’veikus’s “Shalom rav”, which is really a great Jewish song. Enjoy!

    The sound quality may not be up to par, but hope y’all still enjoy it.

    (They actually have a “middlepath” and “middle-path” on that site, so I was only able to find your page by searching for song title “Aitz Chayim” that you mentioned.)

    ICOT, thanks! I wasn’t aware there was another “middlepath” on the site, thanks for letting me know! I think my title is “middlepath cr” though, so that can differentiate.

    NOMTW, glad you’re excited! You can go to a website called Soundcloud (you can google it), then type in “middlepath cr” in the search box at the top right corner, and then my songs should be listen there. The new one is called “Song for the Poetry thread”. Hope you like it! And hope your end-of-semester workload is going alright.

    Wow! Can I be super creepy and say your voice is actually how I imagined it to sound when reading your comments?

    NOMTW, thanks for the encouragement :). But I doubt I’d make it big. It’s not really my main priority, I mostly do it for a hobby.

    Thanks, Shira! And thanks for the nice comments on soundcloud, I really appreciate it! I actually use an 8 track recorder, it’s called the MRS-8, made by a company called Zoom. It records everything on an SD card, and then I copy it onto my computer.

    Really sounds interesting. I checked it out – is it easy to use? I got a very basic mixer to plug in a mic and other instruments but I still find that if I want a live sound it doesn’t come out perfect (like if I want to record a live flute…) Do you connect a mic through that? I thought the sound of your recording sounded very clear no fuzz in the background.

    I use a program called Garageband – and connect my electric piano (not a casio) with a USB cable to the computer so I can use it to record midi sounds – that way I can record something and change the instrument to whatever I want mix the tracks. Its sooo much fun lol.

    Yep, it’s pretty easy to use once you get used to it. It has two 1/4″ instrument jacks and one mic jack. I actually record the singing with the built in mic, I found it to be pretty good, though it does pick up a little background noise, so I try to be in a perfectly quiet room when recording vocals. It also has a built in drum pad that sounds pretty realistic, which was surprising. I think it would be pretty good for recording live flute, though you may want to try it beforehand to see what it sounds like before you buy it. They aren’t sold at Guitar Center, I got mine at Sam Ash for around 300 bucks.

    GarageBand is a pretty good program, though it has limitations. If you’re using computer software, Cakewalk makes some really good ones. Definitely try out the trial version of any program before buying.
