before or after chatzos? Anyone gonna be posting?
I’ll be working, but not posting.
I will be working at home (watching the kids so my wife can rest while fasting).
All the Direct Support Professionals at Yedei Chesed will be hard at work tonight and tomorrow as they always are. DayHab men will all have programs as will all the Group Homes. In addition a team of volunteers will be providing respite to families.
I was planning on working at first – I don’t have many vacation days, and I need them for the Yomim Tovim.
Then, I had an emergency surgery a few days ago, and am still recovering. I would be out sick even if it wasn’t Tisha B’Av. Now I might not be fasting (my Rav said if I feel lousy I am required to eat and drink, as I am 4 days post-surgery and considered a choleh). I definitely can’t sit on the floor, as it would cause severe pain. I did make sure to get a ride to shul tonight – I can’t drive because of the pain meds.

I will be working the full day tomorrow at my job as a front desk receptionist from 8 till 5. Any tips on how to observe tisha bav in such a setting? Ive never worked on tisha bav before so Im at a lost. I want to feel the mourning and make it a meaningful day. Help anyone?
Also, part of my job is sitting on a chair at the front desk. Is that okay?
maybe try not leaning back/lounging into the chair? like sit up soldier like strait? not sure. i never really had to deal with this type of situation before.

i will be working. i dont find my chair at work to be so comfy so i dont have a problem with sitting. i prefer to ahve time go by faster rather than watching the clock at home. easy fast to all!!

Thanks for the well wishes! So far so good – I used a tiny amount of water to take my meds this morning, definitely less than the shiur, and that’s all. I took all my pills with the one mouthful – antibiotics, pain meds, and one other that I need.
I will need another small amount of water in an hour or so for another pill, but other than that, I hope to keep going without needing to eat at all or drink anything else.
I’m working today 🙁
