My all time favorite word is “Smorgesbord”. It is NOT a yiddish word, I am so sorry to disappoint. It actually is Swedish.
I don’t know how it turned into “Shmorgesbord”, was that a yiddish flip? Definitely has that Heimish lingo popped in.
And then it became “Shmorg”
I love the word “Shmorg”. It means so much more than a Smorgesbord. It means the whole formal yet casual walk around shmoozy woozy feel of eating kishke on the fly.
Me Kiamcha Yisroel.
