Do you let your children online? What sites are they allowed to visit? pbskids.org has a lot of educational games on it. Anyone else use this site or one similar?
my parents let me on the internet. we dont have a filter but they trust me. i go onto my email, my blogs, ywn, i know certain things are off-limits like facebook and things. i know anyone could see what i am going on to because i dont have a lock on my door…too bad

Seriously, No. My children are not permitted on my computer or on-line. They don’t even feel deprived. They’re avid readers though. I find that even Kosher educational material / games, dull the childs brain.
While we’re at it, let me state one thing. I’ve been around to peoples homes and, being a techie of some sort, was instantly able to discern an unfiltered computer. We’re mispalel ‘lo ledai nisayon’ we gota do something about it too. (When davening for parnasa, do you just leave it at that?) For HaShem’s sake (actually our own sake ?? ???? ?? ???? ??) get a filter.

My kids don’t go online at all. And we have a filter on our computer plus a password which only I know to turn on the computer.
I was in my son’s home office. I needed to work in ???? ????? so I enabled Hebrew. My son asked me to disenable after I am done. He did not want the kids to know that there was such a possibilty on Totty’s computer.
My kids are allowed online, but then again, my kids are all in their teens. They need to use the Internet for research for school projects, send assignments to their teachers, etc. And, yes, they use it for entertainment too.
They know that all sites they visit are recorded.

Parents, Just a lil FYI the number of frum “internet” addicts r rising ridiculously…. the worst thing you can do for your children is to not be educated enough..

I’m allowed to go online, but, we have a filter, and my parents know which sites I visit, like Matzav, YWN etc. Besides, I’m NOT willing to sell my neshama for some dirty forum. I’d rather be stiff bored than ever doing that.

Any “yeshiva” that alows kids to email tehir teachers and reqires kids to go on the internet is not a real “yeshiva.” Its no better than a public school that teaches some Torah subjects.
