i was wondering- i love sable (fish) and i used to get it but one day i went into a takeout and they said that its not kosher anymore bec the KCL said theres a problem with worms in it. but then i was in a supermarket and i saw it there under a diff hechsher?!?! is it kosher or not!?
eew (sorry.) how could u still want to eat it when u know there may or may not be little ooey gooey creepy crawleries in ur meal?
There are different opinions about the kashrus of the worms commonly found in fish today. It’s a difficult, somewhat complex issue. Some sable is farmed, which would generally not have worms in it, so you don’t necessarily know if that hechsher has a different opinion than the KCL or if it’s a different type of fish.
