I used to recommend golden flow
February 8, 2011 3:17 am at 3:17 am #738131Feif UnParticipantI recommend your local large grocery chain’s brand. According to R’ Moshe zt”l, it’s cholov yisrael.
February 8, 2011 3:19 am at 3:19 am #738132yogiboobooMemberfresh and healthy!
February 8, 2011 3:20 am at 3:20 am #738133eclipseMemberwhy “used to”?
February 8, 2011 3:22 am at 3:22 am #738134doodle jumpParticipantDoes that mean that you don’t anymore?
February 8, 2011 3:26 am at 3:26 am #738135ontheballMemberI find that Golden Flow stays fresh the longest.
February 8, 2011 3:29 am at 3:29 am #738136ImaofthreeParticipantNew Square. The guy who works the dairy department told me to get that brand, that is what his own family uses. and store in the back of fridge on top shelf, not on the door. So it will stay cold and fresh.
February 8, 2011 3:37 am at 3:37 am #738137whocaresMemberThe several bottles of golden flow milk that I bought has a odd taste. It does not taste sour, but rather interesting.
February 8, 2011 3:44 am at 3:44 am #738138If you do your homework well in the area of Cholov Yisroel, you will find out that there are only two brands. One is Golden Flow which has their own plant exclusively and the other companies all get their milk from the same place, which is a company that kashers for them under various labels with different Hechsheirim.
In our family it was and is alway Golden Flow. We tried the rest and went back to the best.
Enjoy whatever you use gezunterheit!
February 8, 2011 3:46 am at 3:46 am #738139eclipseMemberIf you have a cold,it affects your taste buds.Really.

February 8, 2011 5:15 am at 5:15 am #738142always hereParticipantthe least expensive these days seems to be ‘Emes’
February 8, 2011 5:34 am at 5:34 am #738143☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantFeif Un,
If someone came to your house, and you offered them a coffee with milk, and they said they were makpid on cholov yisroel, would you give them Guida’s milk and say that it was cholov yisroel?
February 8, 2011 5:41 am at 5:41 am #738144HealthParticipanteclipse – “If you have a cold,it affects your taste buds.Really”
Where, oh where did you get this one from? Snopes?
A cold can affect your sense of smell. Except for four tastes, all of our tastes come from smelling what you put in your mouth.
February 8, 2011 12:28 pm at 12:28 pm #738145eclipseMemberI don’t know what Snopes is,even.
I know when my kids are sick, everything tastes bland to them.
February 8, 2011 12:30 pm at 12:30 pm #738146eclipseMemberI also found that paying less for milk that goes sour quickly is not really a bargain.
Golden Flow has ARICHAS YOMIM.
February 8, 2011 2:55 pm at 2:55 pm #738147boredstiffParticipantI found that Pride of the Farm stays fresh the longest. I only buy Pride of the Farm.
February 8, 2011 3:38 pm at 3:38 pm #738148☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI found that Pride of the Farm stays fresh the longest. I only buy Pride of the Farm.
I don’t think it’s available in NY.

my daughter & I have found the opposite to be true. Emes seems to stay well, but Golden Flow seems to go bad faster… that’s our experience.

Are you buying them in the same store, and with the same expiration time (meaning # of days from purchase to exp. date)?
February 8, 2011 8:19 pm at 8:19 pm #738151bptParticipantGolden flow is first choice
February 8, 2011 8:43 pm at 8:43 pm #738152☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI’m with real-brisker, because I haven’t experience a significant amount of spoilage.

February 8, 2011 8:52 pm at 8:52 pm #738154always hereParticipantDaas Yochid~ we’re buying in separate stores.
February 8, 2011 8:56 pm at 8:56 pm #738155cherrybimParticipantFor all of you who are C”Y, be honest; is it all products and all the time or only when it’s convenient?
February 8, 2011 9:07 pm at 9:07 pm #738156Feif UnParticipantDaas Yochid: No, because I know they’d be upset. In this thread, someone was asking for advice, so I gave my opinion.
February 8, 2011 9:17 pm at 9:17 pm #738157☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantFeif Un,
I assumed you would never do such a thing. My point was that the advice they wanted wasn’t the type you were offering; in common vernacular, C.Y. means a mashgiach present at the time of milking.
February 8, 2011 9:22 pm at 9:22 pm #738158☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantDaas Yochid~ we’re buying in separate stores.
I would blame the store, not the company.
For all of you who are C”Y, be honest; is it all products and all the time or only when it’s convenient?
I can only speak for myself; all products, all the time, and I’m so used to it that I don’t find it much of a hardship at all.
February 8, 2011 9:41 pm at 9:41 pm #738159smartcookieMemberI always use Cholov Yisroel, it osnt even an issue for me.
Never found it hard. I guess cuz I’m used to it.
Funny how so many of you agree on the Golden Flow. I didn’t think it was so obvious.
February 8, 2011 10:19 pm at 10:19 pm #738160ha ha ha haMemberjust make sure you don’t store your milk in the fridge door it gets moldy fastest like that since in keeps on getting hit by the warm air everytime the fridge is open.
February 8, 2011 10:32 pm at 10:32 pm #738161✡onegoal™ParticipantI always use Lamers Dairy. It’s the standard Cholov Yisroel milk here in Chicago. It tastes great and I always use it up way before it goes bad so I don’t know ho long it lasts.

February 9, 2011 2:01 pm at 2:01 pm #738162600 Kilo BearMemberRed Bull. It is cholov yisroel – parve because the milk comes from a bull rather than a cow!
February 9, 2011 2:46 pm at 2:46 pm #738163☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantTheLargeWhiteUrsineReturns,
We only use blue milk. Less fat. 😉
February 9, 2011 3:06 pm at 3:06 pm #738164boredstiffParticipantDaas Yachid-
You can’t get Pride of the Farm milk in NY?!
February 9, 2011 3:22 pm at 3:22 pm #738165YW Moderator-80Memberhow many kilos does this returning ursine weigh?
February 9, 2011 3:34 pm at 3:34 pm #738166whocaresMemberActually, when I was in yeshiva in Eretz Yisroel, I had a Yerushalmi friend (17 yrs old)who didn’t know what Cholov Yisroel means. He asked me if it means milk from Eretz Yisroel.
February 9, 2011 4:21 pm at 4:21 pm #738167600 Kilo BearMemberSix hundred kilos, of course! I am back for Adar – not hiding anything, just can’t reactivate the old account that I voluntarily closed.
February 9, 2011 4:55 pm at 4:55 pm #738169phillybubbyParticipantPride of the Farm is better than any other milk. Most of the time it lasts up to a week after the sell by date. I know that you can get it in Philadelphia, Lakewood and Baltimore. We use mainly skim milk but even that tastes nice and rich–it is DELICIOUS!
