    I think a major problem in our community is that many have asked the same question rather than trying to accomplish something.

    you mean a “macher” or an askan? to be an askan you dont need a title you just do chesed where there is a need.

    There are two types of Askanim, like a lot of people in this world. There are the ones who mean L’shem Shomayim and there are the ones who mean only for their own Kovod!

    I’m not trying to accomplish anything, Wolfie, I’m just interested in how one becomes an askan. Is there a committee that issues certificates?
