I finally got a smartfone!!!!
I wanted info about the opera browser on the phone
I know it doesn’t use many bytes but what are the other positives? Any negatives?
My data plan currently gives me 5MB per month. If all I use is Opera, without any videos or the like, will that get me through the month?
Thanks in Advance

5mb is the amount of data that you are allowed to receive.
A smaller program will occupy less memory on your device, but has nothing to do with how much data you receive when viewing a web page or the like.
5mb is awfully skimpy – it will easily be exceeded unless you turn off al graphics (not sure how that works with a smartphone), and quite likely will be exceeded even if your phone is used for text only web viewing.
Is there a meter that allows you to guage your usage?

Gmail, for example, uses 6KB to load, though i know there are other sites which can go into the hundreds (though i usually stop them before they fully load)
That’s why I have no clue as to whether 5MB is a large enough limit. I don’t want to go over, but I also don’t want to pay more for a larger data plan if I don’t need to

I’d go through 5 MB in an hour, I estimate, on my phone – without ever watching videos or making VoIP calls! I think you must be mistaken, it has to be 5 GB. I cannot believe 5 MB data plans exist!
Also, I recommend the default browser instead of Opera; personally I only find Opera difficult and annoying.
And most of all – congratulations for choosing Nokia as opposed to what most other people get! I’m a big Nokia fan and have a Nokia E72, with unlimited data.

They pick it up, squash the images, and send it further. You save alot on data. None of the flash stuff come your way. If you turn off images it would make minimize it alot.
I find it vary usefull. I can’t even use the default browser. Opera loads much faster.
