Is a boucher working in a mixed camp e.g. hasc or a kiruv camp bad for shidduchim?
December 25, 2010 9:34 pm at 9:34 pm #818292eyefortruthMemberWhy do you ask if it’s bad for shidduchim? Is it good or bad at all should be the question. If it’s good, then perhaps you shouldn’t marry someone not willing to accept you because of such an “abomination” on your shidduch resume. If it’s bad, then it’s bad and it doesn’t matter whether the girl will marry you or not.

Then, even if it is right, you may want to make a strategic decision to protect your market value.

If you hold its not something thats wrong then gizunta hiet why would it ruin your shiddchim. If you hold its wrong (and assuming that doesn’t bother you, just the shidduchim aspect is what bothers you) then WHY would you want to fool the person that you would go out with? What a sick world!

December 26, 2010 5:58 am at 5:58 am #818296metrodriverMemberIt’s good for shidduchim. A Shidduch prospect could develop from working there. On the other hand. If someone thinks it will harm their reputation, they shouldn’t even consider working there or any other place with similar arrangements. You cannot dance on Two Weddings at the same time, goes the Yiddish saying. In English, it’s expressed by the following; “You can’t have the cake and eat it, too”.

thats only if your rav is Rabbi A.M. Mendelson shlita.
December 26, 2010 4:06 pm at 4:06 pm #818298shlomozalmanMemberObviously, if it is good for shidduchim (increases market value)then it’s the right thing to do.

October 18, 2011 2:37 pm at 2:37 pm #818300optimusprimeMemberAbsolutely forbidden. It should be avoided at all costs if you want to get a religious woman as a Shidduch.

October 18, 2011 10:27 pm at 10:27 pm #818306sea.shellsMemberDon’t worry, Toi does that to everyone!:)
Question, after working in that camp would you accept a girl that worked in a camp that was not so yeshivish?? If not then it’s not the right place for you, however if that’s sth you wouldn’t mind, go ahead.
the saying goes like this, “be who you are, and you’ll get who you are…”
And remember, always do what’s right and you won’t go wrong!
October 18, 2011 10:54 pm at 10:54 pm #818307bptParticipantNo, its good for shidduchim. If he works in a mixed camp, he can find his own soulmate, and save on the shadchanus to boot.
Or he can cruise the parking lot at Walmart, to see what the other camps have to offer!
