Good chinuch includes teaching good communication skills. “Good communication skills” means being able to write clearly so that people can understand what you are trying to say. If you are not a native English-speaker, it’s understandable. If you are, that message is unforgivable.
1) “I” is ALWAYS capitalized.
2) “Don’t” has an apostrophe.
3) “[D]on’t allow their kids drive” makes no sense. Try, “don’t allow their kids TO drive.” And besides, you mean “ride,” not “drive.”
4) “Are” is NOT spelled “r.”
5) Double question marks just look ignorant.
6) “A lot” is not one word.
7) “ehind his parents’ backs” requires an apostrophe and more than one back. (Unless his parents are conjoined twins. Not too likely.)
8) Your “sentence” beginning “alot” (sic) is really two sentences. And neither of them are questions. Why the question marks?
9) “What’s” does not have a “j,” but does have an apostrophe.
10) “Your” is NOT spelled “ur.”
11) That last sentence is a question. Why no question mark? Did you run out?
Eleven errors in a message that takes fewer than four lines. Are you trying to set a record?

December 23, 2010 2:39 pm at 2:39 pm #720117aries2756ParticipantBack to the topic….when OUR kids got their license at 18, we told them they are not allowed to have “passengers” till their 6 month probation is up. That also gave us an opportunity to make sure they were good drivers and confident behind the wheel.
If parents do not allow their kids to get in a car with “teen” drivers they have a very good reason for it. The reason being is that they want to keep their children safe and they don’t want to get into machlokes with other Jews. If c”v there is an accident, the driver and their parents will be sued!
As a parent WE have the right to keep our children safe. WE do not have control over whether your chld will go behind your back and do what you told them now to do. However it is very good chinuch to teach them what is safe and what isn’t. So if you make it very clear why you are making that rule as well as the fact that if anything c”v happened you will sue his friend and their parents and they choose to take that chance, you can’t be faulted if and when that happens.
Believe me, before a kid hops into a car with another friend knowing that their parents may sue the pants off of him and his parents, he does think twice.

If a child is constantly told no he will go behind a parents back and do it anyway. It is up to a parent to know when to say no and when its really not so terrible and to let it go and tell the child yes. But when it comes to driving its a totally different story. There are many teenagers who are very responsible behind the wheel but unfortunately there are many who arent. And even the ones who are when they take their friends in the car they can be totally different drivers. There is a certain “power” a new driver feel when he has a wheel in his hand and when he has friends in the car that dont drive yet theres that urge to show off sometimes. When my kids first started driving i was very strict about not taking friends in the car. C”V if something would happen i would be the one that would have to answer to their parents.
