If people don’t seem to be responding to your thoughtful posts,it may be simply because your posts are normal, uncontroversial statements. They make a lot of sense, and don’t need to be “added to”.
I,for one, feel like I have gotten to know a long-distance kindhearted Bubby! If you “hear” me out there, please wiggle your pinky!

Is she leaving the CR?
December 21, 2010 5:57 pm at 5:57 pm #719713aries2756ParticipantThanks, no I’m not, leaving and I am wiggling my pinky but not my left foot! I am trying to learn how to use crutches! I sprained my ankle and spent a good couple of hours in the emergency room last night.
I am also filtering. I am learning to post my thoughts and then not go back too often to argue.
December 21, 2010 6:15 pm at 6:15 pm #719714msseekerMember????? ?????. I’ll try to learn from you.

December 21, 2010 6:42 pm at 6:42 pm #719716bptParticipantFunny you should mention this, Eclipse. For a time, I was commenting on almost every post, and then last week (due to work related issues) I was not able to log in for a few days.
Know what? I realized that not every thread needs my 2 cents. Not becasue its a thread not worth my time, (which is NOT the case), its because some threads are simply not an area in which I can make a meaningful comment, or the thread has already been commented on so many times, there is little left for me to add.
But it would be nice if “hits” were also recorded, so the OP can see if the topic is generating traffic (nothing as sad as a post that fades because of lack of activity)
December 21, 2010 6:58 pm at 6:58 pm #719717aries2756ParticipantBP, I value your opinion. I was trying to impart that philosophy to another poster last week, that he should filter a little because some threads were simply not his area and he didn’t need to post on every one. I didn’t mean to offend him, just to make him realize that he needed to filter a bit like most of us “older” folks do.
IMHO, many of us who join a blog, get so excited and into it, we just let our fingers take over without realizing that we are sharing too much or maybe even helping too much when it is not warranted and doing more harm than good. So I myself decided to go on the Eclipse diet and learned from her to filter and choose my battles. Say what is important and what might be helpful and useful to others, but that’s it. What’s the point of arguing your points to death? I don’t have to be right, my point is just to be helpful to anyone who might gain something from my perspective.
I hope to be able to live by this rule and not be dragged into battle again. It is just not worth the outcome.
December 21, 2010 7:28 pm at 7:28 pm #719718bptParticipantGood point. In sales, we call it the rifle vs the shotgun. Both make a point, one is more focused.
For the benefit of those who can learn from your experience, please keep posting!

So pick a topic, roll up your sleeves (not past the elbow, though), and give it your best shot, Blink. Who knows; you might just find some moxie you never knew existed! (but that is surely there)

I don’t think you’ll ever change the minds of the die-hards here. However, your logical arguments probably influence many readers here who choose not to respond. In that way you are always a real winner.
December 22, 2010 4:46 am at 4:46 am #719725oomisParticipantOY, Aries. Refuah shelaima. I totally empathize with you, as I have my own Tzoros with walking at the moment (knee issues). Please do not ty to rush the healing process and follow all doc orders.
