December 10, 2010 2:22 pm at 2:22 pm #1063375SacrilegeMemberBlackberry is a workhorse… iPhone is a toy.
December 10, 2010 4:12 pm at 4:12 pm #1063376WolfishMusingsParticipantJohn Doe,
Since you have one of each, why don’t you give us what you feel to be the comparison. This way those of us who might be facing a purchasing decision (Me!!!) soon can have additional information.
Thanks,
The Wolf

What can you do on your blackberry that can’t be done on an iphone?
December 10, 2010 4:51 pm at 4:51 pm #1063378dunnoMemberI heard that the battery life on a blackberry is much better than an iPhone. I was considering the iPhone but I refuse to carry around a charger.

December 10, 2010 5:25 pm at 5:25 pm #1063381JRWMemberDroid vs. Blackberry, any thoughts
December 10, 2010 5:36 pm at 5:36 pm #1063382SacrilegeMemberI think its more of Droid vs. iPhone
December 10, 2010 8:08 pm at 8:08 pm #1063383A23ParticipantThe iPhone 4 can definitely last at least a full day.
December 12, 2010 1:59 am at 1:59 am #1063384Y.W. EditorKeymasterBlackberry is the ultimate for anyone who emails alot.
iPhone is a toy with lots of apps.
YWN uses both and an iPad as well.
December 12, 2010 2:09 am at 2:09 am #1063385egbooks47Memberif u r a serious BIZNESS MAN you will have a blackberry…
December 12, 2010 2:19 am at 2:19 am #1063386dunnoMember“The iPhone 4 can definitely last at least a full day.”
Using what features? Would I be able to play music for about 3 hours, send about 300 messages (email and text), and talk on the phone for an hour?
December 12, 2010 3:14 am at 3:14 am #1063387Good JewMemberI have an iPhone 3GS. I love it!
Blackberry is better for someone who uses a phone a lot for text, IM, email, etc.
iPhone is better for web browsing, apps, and just to play around with. I think the iPhone is cooler too.
December 12, 2010 3:29 am at 3:29 am #1063388A23Participantdunno, I can’t promise, but I think it will last for what you describe.
December 12, 2010 3:34 am at 3:34 am #1063389SacrilegeMemberSo, if you do a lot of emailing, texting and imming, stick with the Blackberry?
December 12, 2010 4:13 am at 4:13 am #10633902qwertyParticipantEmail and battery are about the same the only big difference is typing.
Some may think that bb physical buttons are easier but once you get used to typing on the screen it will even out.
December 12, 2010 6:42 am at 6:42 am #1063391HomeownerMemberIf you like making calls, the iPhone on the AT&T network is terrible according to every review I’ve read and everyone to whom I have spoken.
On the other hand, the Wall Street Journal recently reported that Verizon is expected to get its version of the iphone in Q1 2011 which is what I am waiting for.
December 12, 2010 10:34 am at 10:34 am #1063392blueprintsParticipantmy father has an iphone and he’s also got a portable battery called the MOPHIE JUICEBOX which doubles the battery life.
The iphone is better cause of all the apps.
December 12, 2010 12:30 pm at 12:30 pm #1063393wanderingchanaParticipantCan anyone recommend a good phone for making phone calls???
December 12, 2010 2:08 pm at 2:08 pm #1063394YW fanParticipantHey Sacrilege, if you don’t have an iPhone, how do you know it is a toy?
December 12, 2010 2:54 pm at 2:54 pm #1063395dunnoMemberI currently have a blackberry and iPod touch. The battery on the blackberry is perfect for me. I only need to charge it every night. I use my iPod for music, some apps, and surfing the web. I find that its battery is drained before the end of the day. I also find it much easier to type with physical keys but I would give that up…
December 12, 2010 3:14 pm at 3:14 pm #1063396WIYMemberIm with Android and love it. Android is the future.
December 12, 2010 3:35 pm at 3:35 pm #1063397dunnoMemberWIY:
So I hear that Android is an operating system – which phone do you have or recommend?
December 12, 2010 3:47 pm at 3:47 pm #1063398WIYMemberdunno
I have the first one that came out. The Motorola Droid. Great phone but they have made many more advanced models since then. I have to do some research as I am looking to upgrade my phone soon. Android has anything that a Blackberry or Iphone has +

December 12, 2010 4:07 pm at 4:07 pm #1063399its_meMemberdrop your iphone ONCE, you need a front glass, and for iphone4, TWO – one for the back!
apple products= UNupgradeable,expensive,fragile
so what if its in style to own a macbook ipad or iphone?
i am not perfect like steve jobs is. i may drop my phone one day – thats why i go with RIM.

I figure because of all the Apps, that you really dont need for any kind of work. Because all the “prepsters” are the first ones to buy it and then upgrade and then upgrade again… yea, sounds like a toy.
December 12, 2010 8:54 pm at 8:54 pm #1063401WIYMemberSacrilege
I dont have an iphone but I have the droid and I find that there are many useful apps for work as well as other areas of life. The email apps are great. I have an app for currency conversion and measurement, scientific calculator, calendar and reminder app, something that reads word documents, pdfs, instant message. My phone is a mini computer.
December 12, 2010 10:07 pm at 10:07 pm #1063402SacrilegeMemberWIY
All of which you can have on a Blackberry.
December 12, 2010 10:32 pm at 10:32 pm #1063403WIYMemberSacrilege
But you also get the coolness factor with iphones and Androids, they are touch screen, they have great graphics…
December 12, 2010 11:43 pm at 11:43 pm #1063404SacrilegeMemberWIY
Agreed. But I prefer efficiency.
December 13, 2010 2:36 am at 2:36 am #1063405WIYMemberIphones and Androids are efficient. Unless Blackberry does something huge they will shortly become obsolete.
December 13, 2010 3:30 am at 3:30 am #1063406SacrilegeMemberLike Google buying RIM?
December 13, 2010 4:29 am at 4:29 am #1063407chesednameParticipantThere are many different droid phones, what is the difference between them?
December 13, 2010 4:35 am at 4:35 am #1063408real-briskerMemberWIY – I disagree, I think most people in the serious business world have blackberry s And only more and more people are getting them.

“The former secretary of state described her decision to rely exclusively on her private account as a matter of convenience and a way to avoid carrying two devices.”
Is there some kind of reasonable explanation for this, or is this, “My dog age my homework.”?
