Anybody else going through this chaos?
I bought a Peek pronto for my son in law who is in a home based businees and refuses to have Internet access at home. I was monitoring his email. When it got to be a pain I bought him a Peek
Pronto, which was a handheld device with email only. It seems that the company is in turmoil there is no service on the old models and there is no word when the models will ship.
Anybody have any ideas for alternatives? He needs to be able to view attachments ie PDf Doc Jpg.

October 29, 2010 7:59 pm at 7:59 pm #705025Rak Od Pa'amMemberThank you for the advice. No sympathy for a Tzadik of a Yungerman a Melamed who is trying to make a couple of bucks on the side and to protect himslef and family. Are you willing to lend the few paltry dollars to set up a business? I am trying my best but $ I aint got!
BTW where is common courtesy? I started a thread to answer your Question “how do you type Hebrew” and you did not even bother acknpwledging it.

Am I correct in percieving a reverse “??? than thou” attitude displayed by a CR member? (He must be clairvoyant How did he sense that my SIL is a chasidisher yungerman mit ganzrn lvish curled peyos etc?)
October 31, 2010 12:46 am at 12:46 am #705028Sean Ben NoachMemberNo ideas for alternatives… I was a peek “early adopter” and am still following their company news blog, they’ve been shipping new peeks out as quickly as they can to all the people with older ones. I stopped using them a long time ago for this same reason, it was just too unpredictable of when it was going to be reliable.
If you search for “peek blog” you can find their blog, I don’t think it’s linked to from their main site. They’re based in NYC and are very nice, if you’re local, stop in and they should replace it on the spot.

Thank you for responding to my question on how to type hebrew. I actually have not clicked on that thread, nor on the hakaras hatov in the CR thread.
I have great sympathy for your son in law who is trying to earn a living and does not want to have internet. It is very kind of you to volunteer your time to read and respond to his emails. He is lucky to have a mother? in law like you.
October 31, 2010 1:52 pm at 1:52 pm #705030Rak Od Pa'amMemberSean Thanks for “holding my hand” You may be right in saying “and are very nice,” I rcv’d an email notification of shipment, but no tracking info yet.
Off topic Always wondered what the Noahides call their clergy.
I heard a story about a Noahide “?” who was lecturing a Jewish audienece on ????? ????? . A member of the audince “So Dr. Why dont you become a Ger?.” A are you a Kohain of Levi? Q No A why not? because you were born a Yisroel & you should be the best Yisroel you can be. i was born a Goy & will be the best Goy I can be
He is lucky to have a mother? in law like my wife.
October 31, 2010 2:23 pm at 2:23 pm #705031Sean Ben NoachMemberThanks chad pami,
Noachides are very careful not to name “clergy” or anything like that, we would never want to be considered a religion as that could be avodah zarah, we follow the G-d of Torah and the laws laid out for gentiles. We can take on other mitzvot as we see fit as long as we realize it’s not a requirement for us and if we do it properly (Rambam).
There are certainly some gentiles who are “teachers”, I’ve heard people call them “Moreinu” but that’s as close to a title as a gentile gets. But really, 95% of the learning I do are under Orthodox Rabbis (mostly online), I have a Rabbi about an hour away from me that I can go to for more personal matters if needed and we’re invited to attend services whenever we wish.
Good luck with the peek, hopefully you receive it soon!

chad – when quickly scanning this post, SIL popped off the page and for a moment I interpreted that as meaning sister-in-law. I then read the rest of it and thought that perhaps she should see an endocrinologist if she has payot. Then in dawned on me “son-in-law). Thanks for giving me my morning laugh.
October 31, 2010 7:40 pm at 7:40 pm #705035popa_bar_abbaParticipantRight, that’s why I wrote “mother?”. I didn’t know if you are a man or woman. I guessed woman, apparently incorrectly.
