Doesn’t Touro have a PA program?

You don’t have to take it in Touro. Touro has two programs -one in the city & one in Long Island. Also, the few schools that give it in NJ, are all under UMDNJ. The problem with taking it in NJ is 3 + 3. In other words, you need 3 years college, then you need 3 years PA. You can still find programs in the city, where you can probably do it with a total of 4 years or a little bit more. Touro has a web site with info -Touro.edu. Downstate & Pace offers also. There are a lot more, but these are the ones that I know that have frum students.

Do you have any idea what a PA is? A PA works under the license of a physician. Currently, I know of three frum PA’s working in Lakewood. 2 working at 2 different Pediatricians and one working in Dermatology.

Bozo -let me get this straight -you’re only going to PA school now if someone will guarantee you a job in 4-6 years?!

It’s not flooded, but it’s also not #1 on the labor dept’s list on most needed jobs. Google the list, if you want a career in something that’s very high in demand. As a matter of fact, this country is growing way too fast, due to immigration (legal or not) and reproduction; the 125 medical schools here, can’t produce enough doctors to handle the population. So since there will be more demand for medical practioners and there aren’t enough doctors, Nurse Practioners & PA’s will fill in the gap.
