Another Security Case Involving Israeli Arabs


A gag order was lifted on Sunday permitting the publication of the arrest of the eastern capital, Abu Ghosh and Hamas-controlled Gaza in another security case. One of the suspects is an attorney, and they face charges of transferring at least NIS 1 million to Islamic Jihad and Hamas terrorists imprisoned in Israel. The attorney abused his attorney client privilege assist imprisoned terrorists.

Indictments were already handed down in the Jerusalem District Court against eastern Jerusalem residents Shirin Issawi, 32, an attorney; her brother Madhat, 36; Samer Abdo, 42, also from Jerusalem, from the Beit Haninah neighborhood; Abu Ghosh resident Salim Abdel Rachman, 29; and Gaza resident Sofian Zabeda, 40.

The funds made their way to Gaza, and a postal employee in the eastern capital who received bribes allegedly assist in getting money to imprisoned terrorists.

While terrorists may receive up to NIS 1,300 monthly, many received NIS tens of thousands, accomplished allegedly in no small part due to Issawi’s role, acting as a messenger between the terrorists and outsiders as well as delivering information between prisoners, as well as acting as a courier to execute their money transfers.
