during this zman we make kabalahs and sometimes we fail…WHY?

making kabalahs, this is our internal judge. we are away from the situation of taivah, kinah, or gaivah. the yetzer horah is weaker in his ability to cloud our minds with rationalizations, at this time.

so we resolve not to eat the piece of cake next time we are offered one. we decide why that is important, what will i gain from eating it, what will i lose. we judge, we establish the din for ourselves.

now, we are in the situation where the taivah raises its head, we are offered the cake. now the yetzer is strong. we rationalize, its not so bad, its just one piece, whatever. the yetzer clouds our seichel with sheker and illusion. now is not the time for judging, that we did already, we placed the din upon ourself.

now is the time for our internal policeman STOP!! remember your din. STOP!!

during this zman it is particularly important to remember this

and to strengthen our internal policeman
