For those who didn’t know which gemoroh “feivel” is referring to, Google is a good place to start your search.
Hint – it’s somewhat ahead of where the daf is up to.
(don’t tell him who gave it away)
Haman’s mother had the same name as Avrohom Avinu’s mother
Interesting. This may be because Haman was a direct descendant of Avrohom –> Yitzchok –> Esav –> Elifaz –> Amalek.
P.S. To second what “Jax” said – shkoyach to “feivel” for this thread.

August 18, 2009 12:38 pm at 12:38 pm #652856gavra_at_workParticipantHow would one spell “Tzlaffonis” in english?
Manoach is the Father of Shimshon (as per RG).
August 18, 2009 1:06 pm at 1:06 pm #652857feivelParticipant“Nachshon ben Aminadav”
yes, this is the same Nachshon who was the first to enter the Yam Suf
what was his sisters name and whom did she marry?
tha above was from Bava Basra Daf 91a
the question of Nachshons sister is from a different Daf.
August 18, 2009 1:33 pm at 1:33 pm #652858JayMatt19ParticipantElisheva
She married Ahron HaKohen
Rashi comments how important it is to look at the brothers of a potential wife
August 18, 2009 3:54 pm at 3:54 pm #652859feivelParticipantan explanation of what jaymatt wrote:
the Pasuk states:
And Aaron took Elisheva the daughter of Aminadav, the sister of Nachshon.
once we know Elisheva is the daughter of Aminadav, we then know she is the sister of Nachshon.
why did the Pasuk have to state that?
answer: as jaymatt said.
this is from Bava Basra Daf 110a (based on the Rashi jaymatt noted)
the logic is given there, that a woman will raise children in the manner that she (and her brothers) was raised, so that her sons (raised by her) will be similar to her brothers (raised by her parents).

August 18, 2009 5:30 pm at 5:30 pm #652861gavra_at_workParticipantOne of the more interesting Raiyas to a Hashkafic concept is brought about 10 (11) Blatt later on (Tos. with the picture, DH U’Kegon). I would like to hear what Feivel (and the CR in general) thinks about it.

I took a quick look at the Toisfos (thanks to e-daf), and I’m not sure which concept you’re referring to.
He is basically explaining the geometry of a diagonal drawn across opposing points of a rectangle and the area occupied by a 4×6 as opposed to a 5×5.
