Following another day of violence in Thailand, Foreign Ministry officials in Israel have upgraded the travel advisory for that country, urging Israelis to avoid travel to Bangkok, calling on those present to leave the area.

The warning stresses the need to avoid areas declared a ‘state of emergency’ by Thai government officials as rioting continues, with some 12 people reportedly killed in recent violence. Local media reports state that Bangkok has become a battlefield, and El Al has announces flight cancelations and changes in response to the worrisome situation, urging travelers to check with the airline.
