While at times the atmosphere and news reports paint a different reality, the Central Bureau of Statistics released figures than less than half, 42% of Israelis define themselves as secular.
The government poll reports that 8% categorize themselves as chareidim, 12 shomer shabbos, 13 traditional, and 25% as traditional Jews. The largest category is the secularists.
