A very special Hachnosas Sefer Torah will take place this Sunday, May 16th, Gimmel Sivan. The Sefer Torah was written Leiluy Nishmas Horav Hagaon Rav Yehoshua Gutman ZT’L who was Niftar 2 days after Yom Kippur in 5769 at the young age of 64. Before moving back to Lakewood in 2002 and becoming the Rov in Khal Lev Avrohom, Rav Gutman was a Rebbi and the Menahel in the Yeshiva Gedola in Denver. As a Marbitz Torah for over 40 years, Rav Gutman was known for his amazing love and devotion to every person Zoche to learn from him. He was Mashpia on thousands and someone who you were able to converse with on any topic at any time. His Gadlus Batorah was amazing and Rav Gutman was brilliant in his ability to teach and reach his Talmidim.
The Talmidim, Mispallelim, family and friends of this Talmud Chochom will be together this Sunday for the Hachnosa of the Sefer Torah they wrote in memory of the one person they were able to turn to for Hadracha. On Sunday afternoon from 2:30 – 4:00pm the Sefer Torah will be in Rav Gutman’s Shul – Khal Lev Avrohom 124 Gudz Road – for those who wish to come and write an Ois. At 6:30pm the Lakewood Roshei Yeshiva will join everyone in Yeshiva Bais Pinchos (1951 New Central – across from Westgate) for the Siyum Sefer Torah. The final letters completing the Sefer will be filled in and then the procession back to Khal Lev Avrohom will begin at 7:00pm. Everyone is invited to join in this Simchas Hatorah as a new Sefer Torah is completed for Kabolas Hatorah.
