Statistics indicate that Jerusalem comes in second place in rear-ended vehicular accidents, reporting 270 accidents, following Tel Aviv in first place with 700 accidents. Haifa is in third place with 207.
According to the Ohr Yarok NGO fighting traffic deaths in Israel, only 67 of the thousands of accidents occurring in Israel annually were fatal, and 360 resulted in serious injuries to at least one of the parties involved.
Experts report that most of the rear-ended accidents are simply the result of tailgating, explaining they are avoidable. Ohr Yarok official Shmuel Abuov explains Israeli drivers are simply too aggressive.

One Response
A lot of tailgating is the result of the tendency of many Israeli drivers to hog the left lane and not return to the right lane after passing.
