IDF Civil Administration agents arrived at the community of Hashmonaim to carry out demolition orders against two structures. Several tens of local residents and supporters attempted to block inspectors from their mission.

In one case, inspectors knocked on the door and ordered residents to get out. Their pleas fell on deaf ears and the home was destroyed.

One resident, Mordechai, told the media he believes the inspectors were planning to destroy a number of structures in Ganei Modi’in, which is part of the community.

Israel Radio reported that at least one of the home slated for demolition is a permanent structure, not a temporary caravan home.

The community is attached to Hashmonaim, but it is officially part of Modi’in Illit.
