Haaretz correspondent Uri Blau remains in the UK, fearing he will be placed under arrest upon returning home to Israel. Blau received over 2,000 military documents from Anat Kamm, a former staff member of IDF Central District Commander Yair Naveh, stealing the documents including many that are classified, and passing them to Blau who used them for an expose against the IDF.

The stolen documents have reportedly been returned to the office of the Tel Aviv Prosecution, and negotiations between Blau’s legal team and the state continue, with Blau opting to remain abroad until he receives the all-clear signal to return home.

In the onset of the case, a deal was signed by the ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) with Blau by which he would return the documents and he would not face criminal charges. At that time, he only returned a portion of the documents after which he fled to the UK.
