According to a report appearing in Jane’s Defense Weekly, Israel has imposed a partial military ban on Turkey, a result of the anti-Israel policy adopted by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The ban is on “advanced military platforms”, according to Pan AREMENIAN.Net.
SIBAT, Israel’s defense assistance and export organization is indicating Turkish requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. An advanced Israeli electronic warfare system has been requested by Turkey and the request is being evaluated.
Defense establishment officials acknowledge that the relations between the once formidable ally appear to have taken a turn for the worse and Israel must now weigh each sale with the realization the weapons may at some time in the future be in the hands of an enemy state.
Since the IDF’s Operation Cast Lead counter-terrorism offensive in Gaza, Turkey has been among the outspoken anti-Israel voices in the international community, accusing Israel of “war crimes” and defying international law, calling on the United Nations and international community to hold Israel accountable for its actions.

Even without having read the article, I for one applaud the Israeli military for this decision – no Israeli soldier should be forced to eat any form of bird meat for which there is no direct Masorah. I’m sure Maharal is smiling in Gan Eden.
