Lakewood police arrested a 43-year-old township man they say is responsible for more than 100 burglaries committed over the past month, mostly on Friday evenings in the Frum communities of the township.
Police arrested James K. Mastrangelo, who remains in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail in connection with the burglaries, officials said.
Chief Robert C. Lawson said the arrest of Mastrangelo clears up cases of burglary and thefts of at least 100 automobiles, 16 homes and multiple businesses which were primarily in the Orthodox neighborhoods.
The arrest took place after a search warrant was served at Mastrangelo’s home on Carasaljo Drive.

To Yehuda Drudgstein
Your right !!!!!
feif un,
Of course our tefillos were the key. But credit goes to the police department for doing their job and their hishtadlus. When they do somethign right, why do you have to nitpck and say that “the police had absolutely nothing to do with capturing the guy.” It is immature and dumb to say that.
Hi Feif Un – really, the police had nothing to do with it? I find that hard to deal with. of course Hashem decided if they would be successful….but a good police force that makes an effort is also key to the situation, no?
I ask as I just learned something in the sefer Sifsei Haim about how little Esther’s hishtadlus had to do with the yeshua of Purim. how her hishtadlus was not really logical so….it was a way to show that really it was all Hashem.
I sense that we don’t need to go that far. why say that people’s efforts mean nothing…..we can & should believe it is all from Hashem – and at the same time value human efforts.
I asked my Rav (far from being modern) about what I learned & he said “Look, this is typical yeshivish ideology, you don’t have to believe every bit of it. there are others who disagree…..” then he told me about an Ibn Ezra about Esther etc.
anyway….
Nobody: The Bais Hakvoros is on Caranetta; this guy lived on Carasaljo. I’m sure that doesnt change much but I just figured I would clear that up.
Vesh, thank you very much for that point. Up until the police caught him people were talking about how incompetent the LPD is and then they dont give credit when the guy is caught. Part of Mussar is knowing when not to go around spouting it!!!
Why only $75,000 bail? He probably has that available from all the robberies he allegedly committed. He is likely to put up bail and skip.
what a police department! they caught him after 100 robberies years ago there was a ganev caught after 100 robberies by a chashidishe guy not to mention i had to find my own stolen car with a completely disinterested department compared to howell police there a bunch of jokers here-im speaking about personal experiences
yehuda drudgestein and sherl
