The IDF Prosecutor is seeking a harsher sentence for Sgt. Elor Azariya, who was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 18-months imprisonment. In response, the defense attorney stated that generally, the prosecution files an appeal if it feels the jail term is too lenient and not to counter an appeal filed by the defense.
Azariya was charged with manslaughter for shooting and killing a wounded Arab terrorist in Hebron last Purim. It was determined that his actions were not justified as he claimed he feared the wounded terrorist may have been strapped with a bomb.
After the defense filed an appeal on the soldier’s behalf, the prosecution filed a counter appeal. The prosecutor is seeking three-to-five years instead of the 18 months, insisting the young soldier’s sentence was unjustifiably lenient.

so much for democracy.
The terrorist’s body was left for dead, left to die, shunned in case it would cause an explosion, so
you can’t kill a dead body so if you want the body not to continue dying you rush it to a hospital
so no attempt to revive the body was made
so who is guilty? those who failed to revive the body
or those who endangered the lives of IDF soldiers by failing to protect them from an imminent explosion
or the brave soldier who assured that no expulsion would occur?
