French President Concerned Over IDF Strike Against Iran

French President Nicolas Sarkozy at the opening of the US nuclear summit called for immediate sanctions against Iran, a move that is necessary towards preventing an Israel Air Force attack against Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Speaking with the media, the French leader explained that he personally does not wish to be among those who will be asked why they did not take action to prevent an Iran-Israel war, a war that would have disastrous results. He explained that the international community must take serious steps towards signaling Israel that it remains committed to Israel’s security. He also used the opportunity to call on Israel to exhibit the necessary effort towards advancing peace efforts with the PA.

Regarding the agenda of the nuclear summit, Sarkozy stated France has 300 nuclear weapons, which he does not plan to give up, explaining doing so would compromise his nation’s security.

In a related matter, White House officials released encouraging statements following sideline talks at the summit between the US president and Chinese President Hu Jinato. To date, Beijing has opposed crippling sanctions against Iran but is now showing a willingness to agree to sanctions, perhaps preferring a harsh diplomatic response to an inevitable military strike. Officials report that China is now willing to work with the White House on increased sanctions against Iran.

  1. i think it is high time that the so called world leaders would stop signaling israel what it should do or not do. instead they should insist the arabs are better off making peace with israel

  2. Actually, with the rising tide of anti-semitism in the Obama administration, thereby increasing it in the world, one can see Sarkozy’s statement as protectionism FOR Iran.

In fact, it is easy to speculate that Obama’s entire conference on “nuclear proliferation” is designed to have the world isolate Israel should Israel see the need to act, where Obama can again disrespect Israel by saying the world already had a mechanism in place.

It has been a long time since anti-semitism rose to the forefront of a world leader’s decision making. Rahm must have put it to Obama good. I suspect Obama and Clinton have never been more aligned as they are now.
